S.L.A.M. Fairbanks is led by nationally accredited coaches who hold certifications to meet the needs of our members. Pregnant & Postpartum Athleticism Coaches and To Birth to Back Movement Professionals, design and lead our classes to ensure the safety and success of all of our athletes. Women at all levels of fitness and stages of life, deserve and should have access to coaches who have the knowledge to lead them.
S.L.A.M. Fairbanks has been coaching women in our local community since 2016.
Our classes combine fitness with camaraderie, and offer an opportunity for women to come together under a common goal of bettering themselves, challenging themselves, and becoming the best version of themselves that they can be.

What does S.L.A.M. mean?
S.L.A.M. stands for Sweat Like A Mother. S.L.A.M. offers a full body workout no matter your age and stage of life or fitness. KIDDOS WELCOME!!
Is there a chance to make friends?
YES!! This one of the things that makes S.L.A.M. unique. Your S.L.A.M. sisters will quickly become your family, both inside and outside of class. We have Playgroups for those with kiddos and Moms Night/Morning Out events, to build friendships and community.
What sets you apart from other fitness programs?
We build community and strength with each and every rep. We have Pregnancy and Postpartum coaches, allowing moms to workout and bring their children. Women come together to motivate each other, no matter their different age or stage of life and fitness.
How often should I come to class?
If you are returning to or new to exercise, we recommend 2-3 times a week. From there you can find a routine that fits your schedule and goals. Our Coaches are happy to help you navigate this.
Are Coaches certified to meet the needs of pregnant and postpartum athletes?
Our coaches not only hold nationally accredited fitness certifications but also have completed continuing education in Pregnant and Postpartum Athleticism. Female bodies change with every stage and our coaches are ready to help you right where you are.
Do I have to be fit to join?
Our classes offer a variety of movements and sequences that accommodate all levels of fitness. Each movement is broken down by our coaches, and variations can be made to accommodate each individual in the class, including women who are pregnant, newly postpartum, and members with injuries or restrictions. Every fitness level is welcome at S.L.A.M.!
What do I do if my little one gets fussy during class?
The beauty of our S.L.A.M. classes is that we all get it and we all understand. Tend to your little when ever needed. Pause when needed and hop back in to class when you can, littles get their S.L.A.M. routine down just like mom. Often times the interaction with other kiddos, the entertainment of mom working out and the movement of class is enough to keep littles happy. Our coaches are here to support you.
What kind of exercises can I expect during a workout?
S.L.A.M. Sweat Like a Mother is a comprehensive exercise program for women in all stages of life. You will see a variety of movements from weightlifting, HIIT, running techniques, strength and endurance training and so much more.
What do I need to bring to class?
We recommend bringing water as well as a yoga mat and hand weights (anywhere between 3 and 15 pounds) if you have them. You need a stroller or mat for kiddos depending on age. For outside classes keep any weather needs in mind, sunscreen, jacket, bug dope etc.
